Performance

I have edited this performance still by desaturation. This medium shot has the singer in the centre of the frame to show he is the main focus. I chose to make this into black and white so that the singer's t-shirt will stand out making him clear to the audience. It is also different and makes the audience want to watch more. To use desaturation in my music video I might use it every now and then to create a certain part to stand out and draw the audience in.

Narrative

This narrative still has been edited with the use of a split screen. This shows the story of this man in two different lights. The left still is a high angle and long shot of the man looking depressed and vulnerable in a wheelchair. On the right still it shows a medium close up and high angle of a man who is work based on a computer showing he is intelligent. In my music video I will use split screens to show two sides of a story (if a narrative) or to use showing more than one band member (in performance).

I added text to this image still. The text is bright and girly which demonstrates what the singer in the still is like - creating her image. Even though she is towards the left of the frame, the use of a mirror shows she is looking at herself reflection, allowing the audience to create an opinion of the singer. If I was to use text in my music video I would make sure the text colours and style will suit the song genre and perhaps have some of the lyrics on the screen.
