Analysis of music videos

Jungle -Hurtwood House Media

I think that the close ups of the instruments and band members as well as the shallow focus on the main singer really signies the performance genre. I really like the use of the car park setting as the brick walls add to the effect of the music video. The use of the tiger label on the drum and as a tatto is also extremely significant to the genre and the type of song as tigers are from the 'jungle'.

Sia - Breathe Me

I really liked the use of the polaroid photos throughout the music video and I thought that we could perhaps use this for our music video in order to have an array of shot types. The poloroid photo could be used as the band looking back at a picture of themselves from before or it could be a picture of the lead singer with a group of girls at a club. I think that the use of this technique is very effective as it offers different cinematography and is a unique, but effective way of creating a music video.
